My Daughter…

Lilypie - Personal pictureLilypie First Birthday tickers

  • Cloe Ellen James McCauley.
  • Born September 21, 2011.
  • 7 lbs, 8 oz & 21 inches long
  • My Birth Story
  • I breastfed exclusively for only the first 2 months. Cloe wasn’t gaining weight at a pace I or her pediatrician were comfortable with, so we added in formula to her routine. At 3 months my supply just wasn’t keeping up with the demand & pumping didn’t help so we now exclusively formula feed.
  • I use disposable diapers.
  • I baby-wear whenever I can.
  • I work full time so Cloe is in daycare full time. She seems to be thriving there. She adores her teachers & is very interested in trying to play with the other children in the infant room.
  • I have a Beeba cooker so I can make her food starting in the next week or two, but I know it’ll be supplemented with store bought as well.
  • We are on WIC.
  • We are trying to get into the Families First program to help pay for daycare.
  • Developmentally she is consistently 1.5-2 months ahead of where people say she “should” be.
  • I “parent on demand.” We don’t have a set schedule. If she’s hungry, she eats. If she’s tired, she sleeps. I’m sure this will change in the not so distant future, but for now it is working for us.
  • She gets to watch cartoons (either a Baby Einstein music/art/sign language dvd or Octonaughts on Disney channel) for ~10 minutes in the morning while I get dressed.
  • She is happy, healthy & loved beyond measure.
