As the main page says, I’m 27. I’ll be 28 on August 30th. I have yet to decide how I feel about inching so close to 30.

I am a born & raised Memphian. I have been blessed enough to travel the world, but I love my home & it would take something very special/important to convince me to move away from here.
I am very close to my family. My parents were only 18 when they had me, they are still together & still very in love. They’ve taught me an immeasurable amount about life, love, respect for others & myself, and just how to generally be a decent human being. My brother & I are 4.5 years apart (I’m older). We spent many years not liking/appreciating one another, but now we live together & I couldn’t be more proud to call myself his sister. The man he has become & continues to grow into is someone more men should aspire to be like.
I am a Christian, but I will never look down on, or belittle, or disrespect anyone who doesn’t believe exactly as I do. In fact, I’d love to hear about your belief system. I’m always eager to learn more.
I have 3 college degrees: an AS in Education, an BA in History & English Lit, and an MA in History. My primary field of study is English social & cultural history between 1751-1899. I’m particularly interested in museum culture & popular entertainment as they relate to class & education. I dream of getting my PhD and really being a professional historian. I want to write, both now fiction histories & historical novels. I want to research in musty libraries and archives. And I’d love to work in a museum in ANY capacity.

When it comes to TV I love: Dr Who, Torchwood, Sherlock, Supernatural, Castle, Lost, Friends, Gilmore Girls, Alcatraz, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Fringe, Haven, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Pretty Little Liars, My Boys, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Primeval, Criminal Minds, Dexter, Game of Thrones, the Tudors, Carnivale, Mad Men, Face/Off, The Killing…and so many more….I love TV okay?
I’m an avid reader of books…some favorites include: the Harry Potter series, the alphabet novels by Sue Grafton, the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde, anything my Stephen King, The Shadow of the Wind, anything by Christopher Moore, and Good Omens…just to name a few. I’m currently reading Stephen King’s Under the Dome and James Dashner’s The Maze Runner. I love horror, scifi, & young adult fiction.
I’m also a movie whore & will always adore & watch: the Harry Potter series, Empire Records, Up, The Great Race, The Greatest Show on Earth, The Court Jester, Inception, all the Batman movies (yes even the horrible ones), Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Ferris Bueller, The Shining, The Green Mile, Better Off Dead, High Fidelity, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Stand By Me…and so so SO many more.
I do not like: racism, sexism, or any -ism really. As Ferris Bueller said, “-isms in my opinion are not good.” I’ve read the Twilight books, and found them temporarily entertaining, but I don’t like the movies. I’m not a fan of Kristin Stewart, Kanye West, any of the “Real” Housewives of ANY city. I’m sick & tired of American Idol (& all similar shows) & Survivor. I have little to no tolerance for stupidity, doing anything that could harm others or put them in danger, and bad drivers.
